"KASHMIR" The poem
"As far As I can see...
Everything that surrounds me is this piece of land...
Beauty mixed with elegance ...might be difficult to express in words... But surely can show it's true colours; when you see...
A single endless sky stretching it's azureness beyond the reach of anyone but the Himalayas...
Breath taking cotton candy like white clouds floating..And around the corner up there.. are those pigeons who in the morning where seen in Hazratbal shrine...
A closer look in the right ...down here and you would be able to identify the life of Kashmir ... Darya- i- Jhelum originating from Verinag, a place close to peoples heart...
A cave filled with the belief of having the secret of eternity and immortality , the amarnath cave also falls in this part of land that is known to many for it's heaven like appearance ....
Oh! Here on ground close to my window is a big Chinar that stands out afresh green , tall ..just like the ones in the Char - Chinar in Dal lake... a Lake filled with shikaras , is the centre of Srinagar city...
A few metres away is the tulip garden ... Full of flowers which unfurl their petals on the onset of the spring season....
One of the mesmerizing and unforgettable experience is winters in the snow covered Kashmir... Where kangri & pheran become your bestest friends...
Gulmarg , and Pahalgam though opposite in direction are the two of many diamonds present on the crown, the kashmir itself...
So far as I have heard from my grandparents....
The famous mughal gardens tells us the story of their own times... the rulers and the people...
The world famous art of paper mashi gets it's basic origin from this piece of land...
It is thee land of saffron..
The land of Lalishwari , Mahjoor and Haba khatoon...
And for all I know...
It is a place filled with diverse culture.. an old age tradition that's only one of it's kind..
It's the piece of land where I have spent my whole childhood...
The land where I belong..
It is the land of places that are yet to be mentioned...
The list is so long.. would I ever be able to complete it?
Maybe ... But for today that's all..
This place is just like the saying goes...
" Wuch tee pahadann manz.. kya shubann chu kashmir soan, aath manz che rozann mukhtalif poosh... mukhtalif poosh , mukhtalif poosh..."
